FEMA Credits - Matymus - 06-19-2007 Those who have succesfully taken FEMA courses, is it actually possible to take the final exams of each course online, or do you truly have to print them out & snail-mail them?? FEMA Credits - Greggy_D - 06-19-2007 You do all of them online. I print out the exam and then bring up the course in either Adobe or MS Word. As I go through the exam questions on paper, I do key word searches in the course document to find the answer. I can finish the shorter exams in about 20 minutes and the longer ones in about a hour. Then I take my answers on the paper exam and transfer them to the online input exam. About 2 minutes later you get an e-mail that lets you know if you passed or not. If not...try again as many times as necessary. Keep track of which exams you took. FEMA Credits - Matymus - 06-19-2007 Greggy_D Wrote:You do all of them online. Do you have a link I can use to do it online?? I can't seem to find anywhere to do it online. Also, do you actually read through the units, or do you just go directly to the final exam?? FEMA Credits - mapalo - 06-19-2007 Here is the website it seem they changed something but you can do a course search the following are the list or courses that TESC would take that is if you will be sending them VIA TESC it;s cheaper depending on how many FEMA credits you will take Emergency Management Institute - FEMA Independent Study Program FEMA COURSE LIST EDM 101 - IS001 EDM 102 - IS002 EDM 103 - IS007 EDM 107 - IS230 EDM 120 - IS120 EDM 122 - IS288 EDM 123 - IS195 EDM 124 - IS275 EDM 126 - IS208 EDM 130 - IS279 EDM 140 - IS393 EDM 154 - IS005 EDM 155 - IS346 EDM 172 - IS301 EDM 190 - IS008 EDM 191 - IS010 EDM 192 - IS011 EDM 193 - IS111 EDM 200 - IS292 EDM 203 - IS139 EDM 207 - IS240 EDM 208 - IS241 EDM 209 - IS242 EDM 210 - IS244 EDM 221 - IS630 EDM 222 - IS600 EDM 223 - IS015 EDM 224 - IS235 EDM 225 - IS631 EDM 232 - IS386 EDM 240 - IS009 EDM 241 - IS394 EDM 290 - IS632 EDM 303 - IS513 EDM 390 - Q534 EDM 399 - IS003 FIS 391 - Q118 FIS 461 - Q318 Fema not accepted 022, 055, 100, 200, 317, 340, 362, and any course number higher than course number 632. All the Best FEMA Credits - auminer49r - 06-19-2007 Many questions can be answered here: FEMA Independent Study Courses for College Credit - VA Joe To get started, go here and select a course from the course list: Emergency Management Institute - FEMA Independent Study Program FEMA Credits - Greggy_D - 06-19-2007 Just go directly to the final exam and search the entire course file. Some courses are in one big file. Others are broken up into 7 or 8 files (which makes it a pain to search for the answers). You'll see what I'm talking about when you start pulling up each course. Also, pay attention to those course numbers that mapalo listed. You don't want to waste your time on courses that do not count. FEMA Credits - cpstudent - 06-19-2007 Does it cost anything to take the FEMA courses? How long do they keep the records on file? I am interested in finding out more about these and which ones I could take towards my degree. Do they only count as free electives? Can you take a bunch and then some other time in the future submit them to Thomas Edison to get the credit? Any information somebody has or could point me to would be greatly appreciated. FEMA Credits - mapalo - 06-19-2007 it does not cost anything to take FEMA credits, but your time, The costs come in when evaluting the Course because schools like EC do not take raw FEMA credits. IF you are not a TESC student you can apply for a credit Banking and send your credits there for Evalution the fee is about $300 plus, but not more than $400 and this is if you are taking many course, but if you do only one or few credit the other option is better, which I don't have much info on, but if you do a search on this Forum, will be able to get almost all the answers you need to know about FEMA. Also depending on what degree you are enrolled in the FEMA credits from what I understand can be used for more than electives. I am enrolled in the Business Degree at EC, so I could only do 15 which went to my free electives. Hope this helps Do a search and you will find great Info Mapalo FEMA Credits - cpstudent - 06-19-2007 So, if I went and took 6 FEMA courses (assuming they were all accepted by TESC), I could wait, say, 6 months to get them transcripted into actual credits? Basically, like I'm doing with my CLEP credits. Taking most of the tests before I enroll with TESC. Is that possible? Thanks! FEMA Credits - Matymus - 06-19-2007 Quick question....I took a FEMA exam about an hour ago...it's now 8:30pm. I haven't gotten an email stating I passed or anything. Snazz said it would only take a few minutes. Does anybody know if their system shuts down after-hours?? |
