Questions on TESC Organizational Theory and Organizational Development and Change - bigjimindfw - 11-19-2013 Hello from N. Texas !!! I am working on my Thomas Edison BS in Business Administration with a H.R.M major. Request: I need a course equivalent for Organizational Theory or Organizational Development and Change on my HRM degree plan. Is there any readers here on this forum that can provide me with a DSST, Excelsior (UExcel) or CLEP equivalent test to "test out" of this 3 credit requirement. I hope to finish out of testing in May for graduation. Finally, Happy Holidays to all on this forum !!! Please reply. BigJiminDfw Questions on TESC Organizational Theory and Organizational Development and Change - mrs.b - 11-23-2013 I never found any CBE options to fill this requirement. Personally, I ended up taking the course in GS-form through TESC, and do not recommend it, at least in GS; maybe the OL version is better. The book used was tedious, the GS version of the course required an obscene volume of time-wasting papers that focused on obscure points rather than the meat of the subject, and the course mentor I had seemed incapable of any type of feedback even when asked directly. There are better mentors, but that does not resolve the poor course design of the GS-version. Brigham Young U. has an Independent Study course, ORG B 320 Organizational Effectiveness that you could ask about fulfilling the requirement. Looking at the description, I'm inclined to think it would match Organizational Behavior instead (which is better-completed with the DSST), but it's worth an email or call to Advising or Registrar. I know I've seen Organizational Theory courses available at some of the commonly-recommended schools around here, but I'm not remembering where. Look around for an independent-study version. That's your best bet if you understandably do not want to subject yourself to the TESC course. |
