My Charter Oak Evaluation Help - Gusgus - 11-12-2013 I have 81 units excepted to Charter Oak State College. I also have 34 FEMA credits Completed. I was recommended by a GREAT user here to attempt a BA in Business/Psychology. Thank you guys again. What would you recommend I take to finish as fast as possible. Also what classes am I looking at because I see many not met? Ps- Sorry for the post in the wrong area earlier. ![]() Here is a hard copy as well. Aim Credits Req. My Charter Oak Evaluation Help - rebel100 - 11-13-2013 Yes, easier to do when we can see exactly what you have. The Gen Eds can be done through CBE and SL or a combination of the two. The 27 UL credits that you need will have to come from one of the UL DSST/TECEP/or EC exams or from a college. I used independent studies courses through CSU-Pueblo for much of my UL, but I would look really hard at University of Idaho for that today, especially if I was interested in Psychology. Psychology-Independent Study in Idaho-University of Idaho You might consider Organizational Leadership/Psychology as a dual major. COSC can be a little picky about their business concentration...but I think the underlying concept of dual majors is great. My Charter Oak Evaluation Help - Gusgus - 11-13-2013 Thanks guys. I don't really care about the business degree but don't want a psychology degree unless it is a dual degree. I plan to go for the WGU MBA thanks in part to you Rebel. I just want my fastest path to a Bachelors. Also keep in mind my FEMA Credits. Any not mentioned below seem to fall under Liberal Arts. I would be glad to help, but I can't read the pics. Until I finished my cornerstone, none of my concentration courses were listed as meeting any of the requirements. However, I am an independent studies student....it might be different for an "off the shelf" concentration, as my adviser calls it. I can see in your general ed requirements that you are only a few courses shy of completing them. Speech: DSST Public Speaking (or you could ask for a waiver of this requirement. It's easy to waive, if you can document public speaking experience). Ethical Decision Making DSST Ethics in America or DSST Business Ethics Global Understanding DSST Intro to World Religions (there are many options to fill this requirement, but seeing that you have several religious studies credits already, perhaps this would be an easy exam for you). This would finish your General Ed requirements. If you can get us better quality pics, I could probably help you a little better with concentration requirements. If you want to know what exams are accepted, and whether they are upper or lower level, you can use the COSC Exam Master List My Charter Oak Evaluation Help - Gusgus - 11-13-2013 Thanks Publius, I followed your advice and uploaded the file to Dropbox. Also can you explain the benefit of Waving? I have a few student leadership certificates and took a communication course as listed above. https://www.dropbox.com/s/be476tqp1yk9d44/degreeauditupdate.pdf My Charter Oak Evaluation Help - DrJohn - 11-14-2013 Gusgus, where did you attend to earn these credits? It kinda reminds me of some of the courses I took at Concordia University. My Charter Oak Evaluation Help - publius2k4 - 11-14-2013 Ok, it looks as if you have no upper level credits. You need AT LEAST 30 upper level credits. You also need at least 18 upper level credits in your concentration. The benefit of waiving the speech requirement is simply not having to take the exam. However, seeing that you still need 10 liberal arts credits, it might be beneficial to take the test, since that exam also covers liberal arts credits. Let me ask you one final question, and I'll see what I can figure up for you. What would you like to major in? I see business admin on your Advising Worksheet. Is that what you want, or would you like to combine 2 areas of study? Keep in mind that if you do an individualized studies concentration, you need 36 total credits for the concentration (which can come out of many of the courses you have), but you also need at least 9 upper level credits in both areas. Bit if either of them was in a dual concentration I would not care. I just want to finish as soon as disposable to go for an MBA at WGU. |
