REA Guide Western Civilization 1--which edition? - naturallinens - 10-16-2013 Hi! I'm going to be studying for Western Civ 1 soon, and wanted to know which edition (1st or 2nd) is the best, or if there is another edition. For reference, here are the links to the two books I'm considering: 1st ed: CLEP Western Civilization I The Best Test Preparation for the CLEP Western Civilization I (REA): Dr. Robert M Ziomkowski, CLEP, Larissa Juliet Taylor Ph.D.: 9780738601106: Amazon.com: Books 2nd ed:CLEP Western Civilization I with Online Practice Exams (CLEP Test Preparation): Dr. Robert M Ziomkowski: 9780738610481: Amazon.com: Books Is it worth it to buy the second edition? Or would IC, online videos, etc. be enough to cover possible gaps in the 1st edition? Thanks so much! REA Guide Western Civilization 1--which edition? - cookderosa - 06-09-2014 I have not looked at both editions, however, you could confirm that either would work by visiting your local library and comparing side by side if possible. In the books I have looked at, it's nearly identical from edition to edition (except obviously when the tests change like English comp and accounting). I'm in the camp that uses older editions and checks with newer online free resources to fill in any gaps (or IC if there are cards). REA Guide Western Civilization 1--which edition? - Westerner - 06-09-2014 I've successfully used older editions of REAs for CLEPs. I passed Western Civ I in 2011 using the older REA, published in 2005. |
