I'm still new here and finding my way around all the great info so please bear with me Tongue

I came across aleks and it seems a good way to earn math credits, but I can't find info on if ACE is open to international students or is just for US citizens?

The registration ACE asks for social security number and student ID?

Has anyone here outside of the US used aleks and ace?

I am an international student living in USA. I earned ACE credits for ALEKs as I have SSN. Did you contact ACE if they can create an id for you without SSN?

Hi,
I am an international student and I do not reside in the US. In fact, I have never been to the US and of course I do not have SSN. I found it difficult at first to register for and use the ACE transcript service because it kept asking for my SSN. When I contacted ACE via phone, I was asked to use my student number or International Passport number. I did that and yet it did not work. When I called for the second time, the woman at the other end told me to just skip that step- that I should not fill in anything in that section where SSN or Student Number is required. I followed her advice and it worked. I can tell you from experience that you can skip that step and it will work. It will ask if you are really sure you want to move on without imputing your SSN, just hit YES? and it will work.

That's great, Make sure you plan ahead as it can take up to three months to have your credits from overseas examined and credits awarded at most universities here in the United States it took me three months from evaluation to enrollment so plan your time carefully.

I am an international student as well and i managed to add ALEKS classes to my ACE transcript. Its quick and easy.

Once you submit your ACE request you can immediately move onto the next subject in ALEKS despite the system warning you that all details will be deleted. I spoke to ALEKS help and they informed me that the results were stored in their system.

Be aware of which universities you will be aiming for as ACE recommendation is only a recommendation and there is no guarantee that college will consider ALEKS math courses as acceptable.

Thanks everyone for the great info and tips. I did contact ACE but they have not replied yet, Aleks emailed back straight away and said to check with the university that they accept ACE credits for international students.

I will probably go with one of the big 3 in the future so hopefully everything will work out Smile

I would like to thank you for the advice in this thread - I just set up the ace account - its works fine - and requesting the credit was simply pushing a button
