How do you know when you're ready to take a CLEP? - WaltzJump413 - 09-24-2013 I have been working on IC (just studying for one test, US History II) for 3 weeks now. I feel like I have a much better grasp of events than I formerly did, but am not sure if I am actually ready to take the final test. Is there a baseline I can go by to gauge when it's time? IC said to "try to get 90% at least 3 times in a row". Should I go through each subset of flashcards several times and check my score based on that? Or is there another way to figure this out? Thank you! How do you know when you're ready to take a CLEP? - HorseManiac - 09-24-2013 I would suggest you see if you can get a copy of the CLEP official study guide from your library and take the practice test in there. I usually use practice tests scores to judge my readiness. It varies for every person, but the practice tests can be a nice indicator. How do you know when you're ready to take a CLEP? - WaltzJump413 - 09-24-2013 Thanks, HorseManiac (I like your username, BTW--I have two miniature horses). I had ordered that from the library last week and it is now in. Is there a percent score that would indicate readiness when taking those (e.g. if I got __ out of 10)? How do you know when you're ready to take a CLEP? - HorseManiac - 09-24-2013 Thanks!! Well, it depends. There isn't a set number that you have to get in order to guarantee that you'll pass. Like I said it varies for each person..I usually like to try and be in the 60 - 70% range before I take a test. How do you know when you're ready to take a CLEP? - Lindagerr - 09-24-2013 There is a study guide available at History of the United States II CLEP Free Study Guide - Free-Clep-Prep.com They are usually helpful. A practice test is usually a good indicater if you only take it once. I usually try to get at least 60% correct. Remember you only need to get enough right to compare with what a C student could do. I also agree the specific exam feedback is worth its weight in gold How do you know when you're ready to take a CLEP? - Westerner - 09-24-2013 WaltzJump413 Wrote:Is there a percent score that would indicate readiness when taking those (e.g. if I got __ out of 10)?If you get above 65% on the Official Clep Study Guide practice test, and feel you have a good grasp of the material, you should be good On this test, be careful that you're learning not just "facts" but also social issues and feelings of the times.
