I'm just wondering if anyone who has taken a dsst or clep test before could tell me how the exam is set up? Is itmulitple choice? This is my first time using this program and i noticed that the flashcards were fill in the blank, are the tests fill in the blank too? Thanks

Your questions can be answered by searching, which is always a great way to start. If you really want to know official rules, policies, and procedures, go straight to the source. When it is your future on the line, don't make decisions based on secondhand information.

Generally speaking, questions are multiple choice, but there are exceptions. The DSST public speaking test, for example, requires that you record a speech. The CLEP foreign language exams require that you listen to audio clips of the spoken language.

The only exam that I know of which has a blank line to enter your answer is the College Mathematics exam. As clep 3705 pointed out, there are also the different ones which require listening (all the foreign language exams), speaking/recording (the public speaking one) and writing (optional essays are offered for two of the DSST exams and three of the CLEP exams; mandatory typed essays are required for one CLEP exam).

Definitely check out the websites for CLEP and DSST. I am hearing more and more that testing candidates don't even bother to read over the information on these sites. Why is this? If you are pursuing a higher education, please take the initial steps to educate yourself about this wonderful testing opportunity!
