how hard is math? - dina - 06-06-2007 I keep hearing that math in hard, why do some posting say it is not. I think it is because of the timing of the test, maybe? Did you study only with IC for math? any books or suggestions? should I rahter do it wiht the college? how hard is math? - Johanna - 06-06-2007 When you read anything about the difficulty level of a test, it is the subjective opinion of the individual test taker. Your mileage may vary. What is hard for me may be easy for you and vice versa. If you have a basic knowledge of math and are comfortable with the core concepts, you will do fine taking the college math clep, as it is not high level math (such as calculus). I am not a math-mind, but with a little review I managed to obtain a decent score. But not like others, who could go in and ace the exam without preparing. So it depends on your starting point. Only you can decide if you need to get your math credits from a traditional classroom setting or if you can test out of it. Do you have a decent foundation? Then I would encourage you to at least try it, it could save you lots of money and time. At worst you will fail the exam and then you can still decide to go the traditional route. Good luck either way. Good luck either way. I had a very difficult time with the College Math CLEP as I hadn't touched most of the math topics covered...in at least 13 years. So...it was almost as if I was starting anew. Thus, I passed with a 51. |
