Too late for a proper first post... - RANSOMSOUL - 07-10-2013

Finally moving into the light from a lurker to an introduction and hopefully one day a contributor. To the veterans in the forum, thank you for the lengthy posts, they have been read and appreciated.

I will have to figure the signature part this week. In an effort to have something to have listed, I waited to post until knocking out NFA 145/149, 30 FEMA, Aleks Pre Algebra, College Math, PreCalc and Introduction to Statistics (+Behavioral Stats for fun - wanted to get my $20 worth Wink. Hopefully I can follow up with some Clep tests over the next 60-90 days. The goal is to knock out 30 credits over that timetable (6 Cleps).

Thanks again!

Did you find any difference in difficulty between the Intro Stats and the Behavioral Stats? Or were they about the same?

Also, can you do more than one subject on ALEKS or just one at a time?

Good question on Stats. I personally found the Behavioral to be an easier pass to 70%. You will want to complete one at a time, submit to ACE and once confirmed by ACE you can proceed to the next one. Just in case I also printed out my chart from Aleks showing 70% just in case if there was any questions after the fact.

Good Luck!

6 Cleps in 3 months sounds like a pretty doable goal!

The best way to be a contributor is to start a thread after each test and tell your experience, thoughts, and tips on the exam.....even if you fail, perhaps you can help someone else pass.

Congrats on finishing up everything so far!

Which CLEP tests are you planning on taking?

Statistics FOR FUN!!!!!!banghead I think that was the hardest course I ever took and I finished Org. Chem I & II with Lab.

Yes you can only take 1 ALEKs at a time then make sure your pass is recognized by ACE before moving on (it usually takes a day or two at the most.)

30 credits is definately possible over 60-90 days, but it depends on your other responsibilities and time to study. I did about 30 credits over 5 months while raising a family and working full time, you have to gauge how much time you have to put into each test.

Thanks Linda and 2k for the confidence on knocking 30 credits out. If I continue to write it out this will aid in keeping me focused on the process. Here are the tests I am planning on taking:

English Composition
A&I
*Social Sciences and History
*Natural Sciences
Humanities
(*German may replace Social & NScience but I am currently completely intimidated of that exam)

The fun comment was more for fun Linda. I really just wanted to max out the $20 bucks. Outside of FEMA there is no greater deal around. Not easy but so worth the effort.

Awesome job with managing the family and school!

Linda...How challenging is Chem I&II? I am totally intrigued with the idea of doing the Chem Cleps but hiding behind the study time I imagine required to pass. My current Chem knowledge is somewhere in the infant stageSmile
