I take the Peterson's Clep and DSST practice exams. I was getting low 60's on the Clep practice for principles of management and I failed with a 49 on the test. I studied for two more weeks to take the DSST version (Principles of supervision) and was averaging 78-83% on the tests. I got a 436 on the exam.
I'm trying to take the DSST for Organizational Behavior, but according to Freeclepprep, it's a lot harder than the previous two tests I've taken. I'm kinda scared to take the test, considering I failed the PoM Clep and I barely passed the PoS DSST. I took a "pretest" on Peterson's and I scored a 66, but I felt that the exam was pretty similar to the principles of management and supervision. I'm going to continue studying more before I take the other two Peterson practice exams. What score should I look for to know that I'm prepared for the test?

It looks like your Peterson's scores aren't correlating with the real exams. Personally, I don't even bother with practice tests, but some people find them helpful. What are you using to study?

For my Clep, I made a huge mistake by using an "official study guide", which I borrowed from the library.
For the DSST, I watched videos from the site "Education-Portal." I'm glad I did, I learned a lot thanks to the site. However, I'm kinda iffy about using this site's section for the OB DSST since it's only 28% developed. I'm using freeclepprep's advice right now along with Education Portal.
I passed Analyzing and Interpreting literature with a 65 while I was averaging 60-65% on the practice tests. I passed College compositions with the essay while I was averaging 57-63% on the practice test. I don't know my score for College comp, but the fact that it's showing up in my transcript made me assume that I passed the exam despite writing horrible essays with horrible organization.

Though I've not taken the business exams you're talking about, I would ask you one question- are those scores your FIRST ATTEMPTS at the exams? In other words, are you taking the Peterson's, studying and then taking the same test again? If so, you should never use a re-take as a tool, it won't be accurate. Only base your readiness on your FIRST time on any test.
If you would like to integrate a second brand of practice tests, you can use the back of an REA guide book, they usually have 2 or 3, and there is a free clep prep site that has practice tests for many subjects. (I'll link it under this post).
I will add that I used practice tests a lot, and I always found them to be pretty accurate as far as my readiness. I can't explain what happened with your first two tests unless you'd read the questions ahead of time or re-took the practice tests more than once. I think it's unusual to score so high on practice tests and not pass, but since I've not taken those two business exams, I can't say- it just might be that those practice tests are on the easier side as opposed to the harder side. Either way, hang in there!!! Don't be afraid. Just study a bit longer for your next exam and you'll do it!

Yes, these scores are the first attempts. However, I do retake the tests, but I get 90's because I memorize the answers.

I go by "knowledge float" to gauge if I'm ready or not. Prep-tests have never told me anything.

I agree with Cook I like the practice test and never retake the same test. I have usually found if I can get an average of over 60% on the 3 Peterson test that I am ready for the exam. You did miss principals of Management but only by 1 point. You passed Princ. of Supervision by 36 points on the 400 system that is not a bad score. Good luck with further test you need to find what works best for you.
