ECE - Elective for Human Resource Mgmt - julia12389 - 06-19-2013 I may be crazy.... so close to being done.... but I should add a concentration. I'm in the last 2 weeks of my capstone and think I should obtain a concentration in Human Resource Management since I only need one class/test - and it's an Elective. Does anyone have any suggestions on a Human Resources Management Elective? The ECE advisor suggested the following classes, but I would prefer a Credit by Exam or self paced online. BUS*380: Managing Diversity in the Workplace BUS*452: Business Leadership SOC*318: Sociology of the Workplace Your suggestions are always spot on AND thank you!!! P.S. - I will write about my 8wk Bus Strategy Capstone experience when I'm done... soon.. ECE - Elective for Human Resource Mgmt - sanantone - 06-20-2013 Penn Foster: Compensation Management, Employee Benefits, Training Concepts, or any other ACE-approved human resource class they have. Does it need to be UL and do they give UL credit for PF courses? ECE - Elective for Human Resource Mgmt - mrs.b - 06-20-2013 The Labor Relations ECE was very doable with some study. I took Sociology of Work @ TESC as well, and did enjoy the class. ECE - Elective for Human Resource Mgmt - sanantone - 06-20-2013 I was going to recommend an ECE, but I see in the OP's signature that she already took them. ECE - Elective for Human Resource Mgmt - julia12389 - 06-20-2013 thank you for your suggestions. Sanantone - I like all of your suggestions. I am a Payroll Supervisor, so these should be pretty easy for me... Employee Benefits or Compensation Management ... If anyone has had experience with these classes I would love to hear more.. No - I don't need anymore UL credits. ECE - Elective for Human Resource Mgmt - supra416 - 06-20-2013 Hey Julia 12389, I'm looking to do the BS in Business at Excelsior, i've already started writing exams, and i have about 90 credits from University a few years back (never finished). I've done Intro to Comps - 462, Management Information Systems - 461, and Principles of Finance 449, as well as ALEKS - Stats and College Algebra. (All in the last 6 days). My question is how did you find the ECE exams compared to the DSST? were they more difficult? Thanks. ECE - Elective for Human Resource Mgmt - julia12389 - 06-22-2013 Hi Supra - I will say about the same. I think I studied less for the ECE than some of the DSSTs and I purchased one practice tests from ECE, but only made it through the first half and didn't like the format, others have found them useful so use your judgment. ECEs have 120 questions, and I just remember thinking for each ECE will this test ever end.... I also didn't think the ECE exams had as many tricky questions. Overall, don't worry about them as some posts have indicated they are much harder. I didn't find that to be true. ...And based on what you have just taken... you should be fine. ECE - Elective for Human Resource Mgmt - supra416 - 06-24-2013 Thanks Julia, so how hard did you study for those three ECE exams you took? Did you use the IC? Yeah near the end of the DSST exams that are 100 questions i just really want to get it over with. ECE - Elective for Human Resource Mgmt - julia12389 - 07-13-2013 Sanantone.... thanks for the suggestion. I just completed Employee Benefits from Penn. I found it very easy (I work in the field). (10 Quizzes, 5 discussion posts, and a research paper). thanks again. ECE - Elective for Human Resource Mgmt - sanantone - 07-13-2013 I'm glad it worked out for you. |
