Straighterline and Turnitin grading? - armyb77 - 04-22-2013 Hello all, I was wondering if anyone has completed Business Communications through Straighterline with the Turnitin graders? I submitted the drafts for each of the assignments on Saturday, and I am waiting for them to be graded. Straighterline says it takes 5 days to grade. I just finished talking to them and they told me that the time does not include weekends either. So it seems it will take until the end of next week at the fastest to get my final grade! Anyways here are my question that I figure some of you might be able to answer: 1. How is Turnitin for grading compared to smarthinking? (from my experience Smarthinking usually gave lower grades if you didn't submit a draft first) 2. Straighterline says it take 5 days, have any of you experienced a faster response with Turnitin? 3. How constructive is their feedback? This is my last course with Straighterline and I just want it over with, so I am very impatient....lol Thanks! Straighterline and Turnitin grading? - namwen - 04-22-2013 I don't know the answer but I am curious if this course requires proctoring. Straighterline and Turnitin grading? - armyb77 - 04-23-2013 Yes, there is still a final exam for the course. So youust use ProctorU for the final exam which is 50 question in 2 hours Straighterline and Turnitin grading? - armyb77 - 04-28-2013 I figured I would answer my own question in case others have the same one. I sent in a draft for each requirement to Turnitin, on the first paper I received an 87/100 and some suggestions on changes to make it better. The changes were quick (~1min worth of effort) and I resubmitted it as the final getting a score of 100/100. For the second assignment I received a 90/100 and just resubmitted it for a final grade getting a 90/100 (expected that). For the final assignment, the first draft received a 97/100 with the only suggestions being grammatical. I made those quick corrections and submitted it for a final grade (100/100). The average turn around time for the first two assignments was 2 business days, and 3 business days for the final paper. If anyone would like to see a the assignments that I did feel free to PM me with your email and I will send them to you. Many of you will find that all you don't have to put a whole lot of effort in these to receive decent grade as long as you are willing to submit the drafts first. Cheers! |
