Text Books needed - JJ65 - 01-30-2013 I am working through straighterline and have a very good time. I have 2 courses left of the 10 I started and need the text books. Does anyone have Lesikar, Raymond V., Marie E. Flatley, and Kathryn Rentz. Business Communication: Making Connections in a Digital World, 12th, McGraw-Hill/Irwin, 2010, ISBN: 9780073377797 or TLE: Focus on Personal Finance ISBN: 978-0-07-338242-5 Thanks Text Books needed - IrishJohn - 01-31-2013 JJ65 Wrote:I am working through straighterline and have a very good time. Here's what a quick check of eBay turned up: International Edition Softcover Lesikar's Business Communication Connecting 0073377791 | eBay Focus on Personal Finance by Jack Kapoor Robert J Hughes and Les Dlabay 0073382426 | eBay Text Books needed - Merlin - 01-31-2013 Yeah I need those two as well, but they are some of the more expensive used books since they're apparently still being used by many schools. IMO, the best options are to either wait for a used copy to come up at the price you're comfortable with, or get the international editions. You can sometimes find the personal finance book for $35 used, but the business communications book is rarely under $80 used. Both of the international/world editions are around $50 new. You could also try renting them, which is roughly $42/semester for the business communications book and $17/semester for the personal finance book. From what I've seen, the international editions have the same material, but the books are not as high quality (softbound vs hardbound, thinner paper) and sometimes the exercises in the book are different, but other than that its the same. Good luck. Text Books needed - a4tunatemom - 01-31-2013 JJ65 Wrote:I am working through straighterline and have a very good time. I have 2 courses left of the 10 I started and need the text books. Does anyone have I sent you a pm about the Business Communication text. Danielle Text Books needed - bluk30 - 02-01-2013 Hey JJ65 Honestly, you won't have any trouble if you use older textbook editions for Straighterline courses. I used the 11th edition of Business Communications and had no trouble at all. Cheap too.
