Aleks and plotting OGIVES? Problems - Can219 - 01-06-2013
I'm having a bad time plotting the ogive lines. I have done the practice but when I plot I can only plot even numbers EX) 10 I can only pull line to a 10 and not a 10.4. Then they mark me wrong? What am I doing incorrectly. It keeps saying I have a plot wrong but theres no way I can find that pull the line to anything but an even number. Anyone else have this problem? Suggestions?

ok, this might be totally wrong, I'm going on my (aging) memory from over a year ago. There were a few problems where they ALSO opened up a box that allowed you to enter a number and then ALEKS plotted the line. See if that works.
EDIT: tell me exactly what section of your pie/question heading it is, my son still has his stats account, I can look it up for you. I used their dictionary to search OGIVE and can't get a match- so I need you to take me there.

Thanks for your response you did say the key thing about the "box" it was confusing but your right you enter number in box then click button next to it....Thanks!!! It was holding me up....

Okay, I don't think this is cheating, but give me your opinion before your help (if you help). I'm doing the initial assessment in ALEKS Intro to Stats. It's asking me to draw that darn ogive. I know what it wants. I did the cumulative freq. dist. table (overkill 'cause the numbers were easy, but better safe than sorry). I just can't figure out how to do the ogive, or, more specifically, where to put it. I don't think I'm giving anything away when I say that there's a histogram. Then, there are the "tools" to create the ogive. I've read the instructions on doing the ogive, but they don't make sense to me. Where, exactly, am I putting the ogive? Do I somehow create a new... senior moment... create the "thingy" with the "x" and "y" axis? Any help would be appreciated. I'll be double-darned if I say have to put "I don't know, " when I DO know it. I just don't know how to create it in ALEKS!

Disregard my e-mail. I've contacted ALEKS. It's a problem with the system, and they know about it. Sheesh. I'm pausing in my initial assessment until I hear that they've fixed it. From my reading here, I know that ALEKS is VERY particular about entries. I'll be double-darned if I skip a question that I KNOW how to answer just 'cause their system is acting up. With my luck, I'll get a 69.44 and end up in ALEKS statistics hell forever!
