Intro to World Religions DSST test- what to use to study? - tiffy1693 - 01-02-2013 Ok, I am taking this test for the second time next week (I failed the first time) and am wondering what people have used to study? I have found a few resources, and was just wondering how effective everyone has found them to be. Or if you used something else and found that it was helpful, what was it? This is what I have found:
I appreciate any help that anyone can give, thanks! Tiffany Intro to World Religions DSST test- what to use to study? - Publius - 01-02-2013 In the IC specific exam feedback, a user, (mfu something) has posted an excellent pdf. Read through the specific exam feedback, study that pdf, use the IC cards for review, and take FreeCLEPprep's free practice test. You should crush it this time. I bought the Owl guide for this exam, but it wasn't that useful and not at all necessary. Also got the idiot's guide from the library. The idiots guide would be overkill, which may or may not be a bad thing for you. Never used the Pass Your Class stuff, so can't really comment on those. Intro to World Religions DSST test- what to use to study? - robe4658 - 01-02-2013 In the specific exam thread for this test, there is a study guide with EXACTLY what you need. I took this test and passed using only that study guide. It's totally do-able. Intro to World Religions DSST test- what to use to study? - Arthiel - 01-03-2013 I took this a few weeks ago. I just read over the specific feedback and the study guides that were posted a couple times. I really only studied the day before the test and I felt totally confident while I was taking it. I got a 473. Best test experience ever! Intro to World Religions DSST test- what to use to study? - tiffy1693 - 01-03-2013 Is it the Instant Cert stuff? It is saying that I have to sign up and pay $$ for it, which I am ok with but I just want to make sure that it is the same thing you are both talking about! Thanks for the help! Thanks for the help!Yes, this is Instant Cert stuff. With instant cert you get access to the Specific Exam Feedback Section (which is worth the money alone) and access to all their flash cards. Thanks everyone for your feedback!! Intro to World Religions DSST test- what to use to study? - degree4hbia - 02-16-2013 Welcome to Instantcert, Tiffy! I have been using it for 2 years and I LOVE it! BTW, I just took the Intro to World Religions DSST about 2 weeks ago. You really only need IC to pass it. I went way overboard on my prep...checked out 30+ books from the library (no kidding) and didn't even touch them, frantically searched Wikipedia for 10 days (not such a bad idea, but still not entirely necessary), and stressed myself over the supposed "difficulty" of the test. In reality, I breezed through the test in 18 minutes and 20 seconds and passed with a 481. My advice is to go through IC and write down all the information, do a week's worth of researching on Wikipedia and religion sites for topics you don't know well or understand, go over all your notes the day before the test, browse through them again right before the test, and take the test. You'll do fine. Intro to World Religions DSST test- what to use to study? - tiffy1693 - 02-17-2013 Thanks! I actually signed up for it and passed the test! |
