TESC Question regarding accounting and the CPA Exam ~ - Can219 - 12-18-2012 Most states now require 150 credits to sit for the CPA test. But the TESC CPA Fastrack program only has 120 credits.....Does anyone know what to do about this? OR do you know anyone who has been through this? I'm surprised the fastrack is short so many credits. Thanks in advance TESC Question regarding accounting and the CPA Exam ~ - cooperalex2004 - 12-18-2012 Can219 Wrote:Most states now require 150 credits to sit for the CPA test. While I'm not an accountant, I looked at ours (Minnesota) and even though it says 150 credits, it says 24 credits in Accounting so maybe you can fill in the credits with things totally unrelated (like FEMA credits). Check with the state you wish to test in and see what they say. TESC Question regarding accounting and the CPA Exam ~ - Can219 - 12-20-2012 I will be calling them again and getting more details....I also need to speak to an advisor at TESC however I'm being cautious because I heard they are not the greatest at guiding..... One step at a time and this forum and I will get there! THanks everyone! TESC Question regarding accounting and the CPA Exam ~ - Ubuntu_user - 12-20-2012 I think the CPA track gives you the necessary Business and Accounting credits for the State of New Jersey. However, like you mention, most states require that you have at least 150 credits—that still applies. So while you may have your business and accounting credits filled, you could get another major, or masters in some other field, and that would get you to the 150 mark. Some states allow you to sit for the exam right out of undergraduate school, even if you don't have the necessary experience or credits. Then you have a certain amount of time to finish getting the rest of your credits or getting the required experience. Things are slightly different depending on which state you're in. TESC Question regarding accounting and the CPA Exam ~ - amilitab4k9 - 12-20-2012 TESC has a Master's in Management where they give you 6 credits for sitting for the CPA exam and the other 30 required credits help you meet the 150 credit requirement.
