CLEP or DSST for computers 101? - cookderosa - 12-09-2012 Back when I took the DSST Information Systems and the CLEP Intro to Computers, TESC awarded credit for both. As I understand it, now it's either-or for the Computers 101 credit. (correct me if I'm wrong!) It's been too long for me, but which of these two would be on the easier side for someone with little to no computer knowledge? I've read specific exam feedback for both, but they seem pretty similar. If one edges out the other (all other things being equal: cost, distance to testing center, etc) is there one you'd pick over the other? Why or why not? If one edges out the other (all other things being equal: cost, distance to testing center, etc) is there one you'd pick over the other? Why or why not? I've taken both and found the DSST better. They are both easy but I think the best thing about DSST is the simple difference of four multiple choice answers over CLEP's five. Not a huge deal but if you have the chance to choose one over the other I'd go DSST. You are correct though that TESC only takes one or the other (my CC took both so that's the reason for why I did both). |
