TESC and Organizational Behavior ECE - sklineho - 11-25-2012

I just want to clarify something: Does the ECE Org. Behavior test count towards a TESC Psych degree? Lists I've found including here list the DSST but not the ECE. Will they count it as a psychology UL?

Or do I need to take the DSST?

Which is easier? (keep in mind this is a subject I've got some familiarity with anyway.)

The DSST will most likely be easier. The ECE would most likely count toward the psychology degree. TESC is not picky. All they care about are course titles and descriptions. I got upper level psychology credit for an Organizational Behavior course I took at a community college.

Well I need UL so I can't use the DSST (although TESC does show the DSST counts as psych 361 but it's my understanding that it still is considered LL correct me if I am wrong on that.)

TESC is not like Excelsior and Charter Oak. It does not follow the ACE recommendations for UL and LL credit. If the test or course has a similar course description to an UL course offered at TESC, then TESC will give UL credit. I got a lot of UL credit for LL community college courses.

Well that's good to know. The reason I asked was because I've heard with the ECE FoG exam, TESC gives LL despite it being UL at Excelsior so I wanted to make sure that theOB DSST would for certain be counted as UL So the DSST is really easier?

That's because Foundations of Gerontology is listed as LL in TESC's PLA database. It's just another example of how TESC does not follow the LL/UL recommendations of other organizations.

I'm not quite sure how ECEs are graded. My assumption is that the grading of DSSTs and CLEPs make it much easier to pass. Maybe someone else can answer this, but I'm not sure if graduate schools will count ECE grades in your overall GPA. DSST and CLEP are pass/fail. Some might see the graded ECEs as a plus, but it's not so great if you get a C and it's counted in your GPA.
