9 Days to study for Natural Sciences Clep.. That enough? - seanmathews - 09-17-2012

Looking for your opinions on this, i have 9 days between now and the 27th, which i can schedule my Natural Sciences Clep.. I have heard this is one of the hardest Cleps, but i do have a lot of study material..

What i plan to use.. REA, IC-Bio, Petersons Pract Tests, Khan Academy, CLEP official Pract test, some misc. websites and the specific feedback topics i will cover.

What do you say? Possible? Or should i schedule for a week after that? (Oct 4th) The thing is, i want this done and sent to my college ASAP, Oct 19th is the deadline to turn in my Degree completion form at my CC for my AS. This is my last and final class/test.

It depends on what you know already. Have you looked at the syllabus and official example questions? What do you know you know, know you recognise, think you remember seeing as learning objective previously, etc. Have you tried a practice exam to see where you need to concentrate, which topics can be covered from the syllabus to hit the greatest volume of questions you are comfortable with?

Take a Petersons PT to see where your strengths and weaknesses are and what you need to study the most. This test is 1/2 Biology so you need to know that really well. Khan academy’s cell and photosynthesis videos were invaluable for me.

I agree with the previous posts. Try a Peterson to see how you do. I don't remember this being a very hard test, but it's not a piece of cake either. Looks like you have very good study resources. You can also check out Free-clep-prep.com.

Good luck!

I was literally just bored after getting off work a few hours early one day, and randomly decided to play Russion CLEP-Roulette; Picked this exam for exactly no reason whatsoever since I didn't need the credit for anything, and passed with a 57 in a little over an hour. I knew some of the stuff because of Navy Radioman training in tech school, like the stratosphere/ionosphere/troposphere/mesosphere, and some general knowledge about tectonic plates and geology, cell structure/organelles, things like that. I have a lot of general knowledge though, from years of random weird courses, training, etc.

I think a good two or three runs through the IC stuff would do it.
