Spelling question - johnami - 08-20-2012

I am working through one of the IC flashcards, and I see that when I do not spell an answer right, it goes down as wrong. While I do not care at this point as the object is to learn, is this also the case when taking the tests for real? I would hate to miss points just because of mis spelling.

On a similar note, and this would not apply to multiple choice questions (nor would the spelling issue), are the answers checked by a human or computer? If a question has an answer of "lower", is "smaller" or "less" also correct as long as the answer is in the right context?

Sorry for these questions, but I searched the site and could not find the answer.

In 99% of the tests, don't worry about spelling. (Spelling probably matters in any test which requires an essay, such as the College Comp. CLEP.) You'll be doing multiple choice on DSSTs and CLEPs. Again, other than tests with essays, the test is corrected RIGHT THEN AND THERE. Normally, I complain about society's needs for instant gratification. Not when taking DSSTs or CLEPs, however. Also, and I hope that I can express this clearly, don't worry about things like "lower," or "smaller." Understand concepts, and jargon for the course. The tests are as picky as to turn on "fewer," or "less." Unless it's a grammar test, of course.
