TESC BSBA in Operations Management Electives - Muricles - 08-08-2012 I recently completed my BA at TESC thanks to the degreeforum community (thanks all!). As a glutton for punishment, I am considering a BSBA in Operations Management. Aside from the Management Information Systems (MIS) DDST, are there any test options for the Operations Electives? I submitted a ticket through the TESC help desk asking, among other things: Quote:Would the below courses count as Operations Management Electives? I received the following answer: Quote:The four electives you can choose would be as follows: Considering four "elective" courses are required, it doesn't provide many options. I'm hoping that there is at least another TECEP or DSST that could fill an elective slot. If you are interested, my full proposed BSBA in Operations Management plan is here:

TESC BSBA in Operations Management Electives - sanantone - 08-09-2012 Supply Chain Management is ACE-approved at Penn Foster. Merchandise Planning and Buying is another ACE-approved course at Penn Foster, but you would have to ask about that one. TESC BSBA in Operations Management Electives - Muricles - 08-10-2012 Thanks for the help, sanantone! I've contacted Penn Foster. I understand their customer service is a bit slow, but oh well. Apparently I have time...I just noticed this line in the original help desk response: Quote:Please keep in mind that you have to complete 24 new credits for a second degree (18 in the area of study and 6 in the core), earned after the first degree has been conferred. So when is credit earned? Let's say someone passed a DSST or CLEP prior to degree conferral, but didn't report it until AFTER the degree was conferred. I would think, since the institution (TESC) grants credit, the credit is earned when the test transcripts are approved. I'm not going to take this risk, but it could be a big deal to someone who just misses graduation. Imagine missing the deadline to apply for March graduation (January 1st) and not being able to graduate until June! That is potentially six months without being able to earn credit toward a second degree. |
