Excelsior Business or iberal art Bachelor Degree Plan Help Needed! - learner1 - 08-07-2012 Dear all forum members, First post here, little about my educational background, I am living in Canada, did studied back in my home country around 40-50 credits for Bachelor of Business degree but since I was reading transfer credit requirements for BIG-3 + getting transcripts in sealed envelopes etc from University where I studied some 8-9 years ago, I have just decided to not use those credits and start from 0. I am 32 years old, working professional, at this stage, Bachelor Degree is what I need to enhance career. I am reading this forum and feeling that if I am serious in studies (which of course I am), this is the easier, affordable and quick way to earn degree by CLEPS ETC. I need help from great members of this forum, I am looking for a Bachelor Degree, it doesn't matter if its a Business Degree or Simple BA, all I want that I want to be able to complete that as soon as I can. Please suggest me degree plan (combination of CLEP, DSST etc), just a hint, I am going to use both "straighterline + IC". Thanks for your help in advance, looking forward for your great inputs. Excelsior Business or iberal art Bachelor Degree Plan Help Needed! - AlbaTiVo - 08-07-2012 You should start by reading as much as you can in here as well as using the wiki: Degree Forum Wiki TESC Degree Plans - Degree Forum Wiki Excelsior Business or iberal art Bachelor Degree Plan Help Needed! - learner1 - 08-07-2012 Thanks so much for your reply. Just a quick question, is there any difference if I earn credits "using CELP" or "straighterline" ? I see several exam that mention as CLEP, aslo available on Straighterline, just wondering that CLEP exam has a different value/accreditation or they are same as CLEP? Thanks. Excelsior Business or iberal art Bachelor Degree Plan Help Needed! - AlbaTiVo - 08-07-2012 You can use Straighterline or CLEP. If you can post your existing credits up here everyone can help you figure out what goes where. Excelsior Business or iberal art Bachelor Degree Plan Help Needed! - learner1 - 08-07-2012 Once again thanks so much for replying. Actually, I would say I don't have previous credits at all, going to start from zero. Here is what happen, My previous credits were from my home country's (Pakistan) university, in my country, they issue you transcript only once, and just in case if student need it again, h/she must be there in person to request a copy (honestly a big work). So, I applied to Fort Hays State University, I sent me transcripts (40-50 Credits) Bachelor Degree, I made mistake that sent in regular mail, I was thinking since I am living in Canada, regular mail shouldn't have any issue getting into USA, but that mail lost. I can't find it, if I ask canada post, they say they can't track it, contact destination post USPS, I called USPS and they say sorry, contact canada post. Well, I give up after so many calls here and there, now if I try to get again from back in my country, that's going to be a big challenge as I no longer live there and have no plan to go there. Plus I see if I have foriegn transcript, it must be sealed envelope direct from university ( honestly, system in my country, I am sure they won't even understand what sealed envelope is) as well as a third part evaluation etc, so going through this all stuff, I have decided instead starting credits from "0" and luckily I found this great website and helping people like you. So, let assume I am going to start from "0", I an interested Bachelor of Business Program, as following given degree plan Bricabrac's BSBA in General Management - Degree Forum Wiki or Levi's BSBA in General Management - Degree Forum Wiki It would be so kind of you if you can tell me, from above plan , how many credits I should take from "SL" + how many from CLEP etc? just to be on safe side, that they will all transferred. Thanks a million in advance. There are ways and means to convert them for use at Excelsior Colleges the question is do you have the original Certificates? If so you can convert them into credit for about 200 US dollars which could save you thousands. I'm in Ireland I'll be converting mine in November once I receive my FETAC Level 6 certificate in office administration for use at Excelsior I'll be using the section for overseas students on Excelsior to do this along with a credit evaluation service. If this is of interest to you we should chat a bit more about it. learner1 Wrote:Dear all forum members, |
