TESC CJ BA Degree - Inteljustice2 - 01-28-2012

So I originally had an excel spreadsheet made up of my plan to gain a degree 90% through testing out from a bachelor of arts Criminal Justice at TESC, then I stumbled upon a post that mentioned the CJ degree requires 33 Core Credits, only 6 credits can be at 100 level which will be Criminal Justice and Intro to LE DSST, that would leave me with 27 credits to take.

Now as far as I know TESC doesn't accept Substance Abuse DSST and apply it towards CJ major courses, as I believe it would be at 100 level as well.

Are there any other options since PF CJ courses would only be at 200 level or less to test out towards a degree? As TESC requires a minimum of 18 U/L credits for CJ core.

My goal is to fully flesh out an outline, so I can get my degree in the next 12-16 months.

Thanks

I am pretty sure that Substance Abuse would be upper level and counted toward your CJ major. I transferred substance abuse from a community college and it was counted as upper level for social science, psychology, and CJ. TESC will give upper level credit for any course with a course description that matches an upper level course offered by TESC. For example, if Victimology is an upper level course at TESC, TESC will give upper level credit for a regionally accredited or ACE approved victimology course from any school. TESC does not always follow ACE recommendations and will give UL credit for courses that were LL at other schools. Some members of this forum have gotten UL credit for Penn Foster CJ courses at TESC.

Yes. I've noticed that some have gotten U/L credit for PF courses.

I guess the best option would be to wait until I get to the major core after completing all other TESC requirements for BA CJ, then contact TESC to see what they would transfer in as U/L credits.

Thanks
