DSST - Management Information Systems - mrs.b - 01-21-2012 I'm reevaluating my degree plan (again) to reduce the number of actual classes I had sscheduled, and add more tests. I was planning to pay another year's enrollment fee, but decided to save money and time if I woman-up and get over my testing fear, and just do a one or two month extension while finishing a few last degree requirements for the BSBA-HROM and OPM @ TESC. For the OPM major, I'm considering the Management Information Systems test, and I wondered how this one tends to rate on difficulty level for the non-technically inclined. It is one of the few tests that will fit under that area of study. My husband is an IT tech and was concerned about some of the listed materials (specifically, the hardware questions...I tend to refer to hardware as "the round thingie" or "that black deal" and he is skeptical about whether they'll use my same terminology). Any thoughts on whether this is doable for non-technical folks? DSST - Management Information Systems - jmichelle79 - 01-21-2012 Would Organizational Behavior MAN-311-DE work? I took Management Info System and should have studied more. My score was not high, but at least I passed. DSST - Management Information Systems - mrs.b - 01-21-2012 I'm afraid not. I'm not sure it meets the OPM area of study criteria, but I've already taken Organizational Behavior to satisfy the Human Resources second area of study, and need different credits to complete the Operations Management area of study. DSST - Management Information Systems - cooperalex2004 - 01-21-2012 I recently took that test. It was not as easy as the CLEP & DSST Introductory Computer Tests. It has a different focus more on how companies utilize technology and more about databases. Based on the fact sheet and free-clep-prep.com I did fine on it (but I have a computer background). It is doable just make sure you study for it. Good Luck |
