I'm out of the States and I don't have any contact to my fiancé and I'm really worried about the hurricane that's supposed to hit soon. He has an email but never used it cuz he always only called or texted me so I assume he forgot his email or password. Please keep this thread updated about the weather...specifically New York. Thanks!

why don't you send an email text to his cell phone? That's how I communicate with my wife from overseas. It's free for them if you have unlimited text (I'm assuming everyone has that these days.)

I live close to Charlotte, NC, and we've just started to get the wind from the storm today. Thankfully it miss us. Winds for us will be around 15-25mph today. I suppose that the storm will weaken rather quickly once it makes total landfall. The last time I checked, it wasn't a very organized storm. Its still going to hit New York right on, but hopefully it will either move back out to sea, or weaken very quickly.

This is your weatherman reporting from the Southeast. Now back to Jim in the studio. Wink

I live in north central NC, near the VA border. We expect to get our worst part of the storm starting in about an hour and lasting until early evening. The good news for those further north and east of us is the storm isn't turning east as quickly as they expected, so it will really lose steam over land. It is moving much slower now that it is over land. They expect the next update from the hurricane center to show it being much weaker, disorganized and slower. If that is the case they don't expect it to gather much strength going north. That means it could get downgraded to a tropical storm at the 11am update. That would be good news for the northeast. Fingers crossed for those of you in the northeast!

I know how to chat through gmail to a phone but I'm using an iPad so chat doesn't work...
