Going back to school--degree plan advice - Stitching Belle - 08-17-2011
Hello, I'm somewhat new here--I've actually been lurking (and unregistered) for a few years but I've decided to take the plunge and go back to school so I need some help. I'm a housewife, with no plans to pursue a graduate degree. I just want to finish what I started so long ago.
I'm not sure which of the Big 3 would be my best option, so any advice on that subject will be much appreciated. Also--I don't care what the degree is 'in' as long as it's a BA or BS!
I've complied a list of the credits I've already earned at other B&M schools. Anyone care to give me any suggestions about what I'm missing and what tests I should consider taking?
All classes are 3 hours, and there are 4 classes with a D grade, I've indicated which ones they are.

If I'm not mistaken, TESC will take your D's as long as they are not in your area of study or major, but someone can correct me on that. I would look into the two degrees I linked below since you have so much Journalism/Communications credit. These might be the easiest for you to fill up faster. Make yourself an excel spread sheet and plug in your credit according to where they go and it should give you an idea what you will have left to do. Use the credit distribution in the links below to guide you.

wow you have over 100 credits! This will be a piece of cake for you! :hurray:
I agree with CLEP101 and also suggest looking at the BA in Humanities at TESC as it might be a tad more flexible- not 100% sure but it looks like you might have 15 upper level humanities already finished, which would make for a simple test-out strategy for the lower levels.

Thanks for the advice. I've gone ahead and filled out the application form at TESC (and paid my $75) so now I've got to get my transcripts sent to NJ so that they can be evaluated.
I picked the Humanities degree--it looked like either that or the Liberal Studies degrees will be the most flexible.
Now I'll just wait and see what they tell me...

post back when you find out! If things get complecated in humanities, you can always email them and tell them "oops, I meant liberal arts" and they'll do a re-eval for free (just once). You can, however, change your major at any time as an enrolled student, but as an applicant they are less likely to do lots of work for you lol.

I will, Jennifer. And I'm really hoping that maybe all the hours I'll need will be lower level, and I can finish them out with FEMA courses...
