I have tried to find info in some old threads but haven't found a definite answer. Does anyone know the best way to fulfill the Area of Study hours for Finance.
I read about these tests:
Money and Banking DSST
Financial Institutions and Markets TECEP (Can you take this AND Money and Banking, the Degree breakdown reads one OR the other, but I read one thread that indicated you could take both. I looked and they do have different class numbers at TESC.)
Security Analysis and Portfolio Management (TECEP)
These are the other options mentioned:
Penn Foster - Financial Management (does this duplicate any of the above tests?)
Columbia College- Investments
Options from Adams State College
Does anyone know which classes are approved from Adams State and which of all these options might duplicate one another or any other options out there.
I would like to stay with the " go at your own pace" format if possible. I believe some of the Adams State courses are that way and Penn Foster.
I have been planning to go for the BSBA in Management to test out of everything possible but I would really like to get the Finance degree if I could find some good options for the upper levels.
I have applied and am waiting for an evaluation from TESC but from what I have read I might get quicker and more accurate answers on here until I enroll.
The info on this forum is great and has helped me go from 28 hours that I have had for 17 years to 72 hours since I started testing in June (if I pass the two DSST's I have scheduled Friday). I would appreciate any info anyone has on the Finance options.

DSST Money and Banking, TECEP Financial Institutions and Markets, and TECEP Security Analysis and Portfolio Management can all be used in the finance area of study. Money and Banking and Financial Institutions and Markets do not duplicate and can be taken together.
From what I understand, Financial Management from Penn Foster duplicates DSST Principles of Finance and can be used to fulfill the Principles of Finance requirement instead of the exam.
There are several options from Columbia College, Adams State College, Fort Hays State University, Upper Iowa University Independent Study Program, and others. There are many courses and I would not be able to tell you which individual courses are approved or which duplicate. You would have to find out which courses you want to take and get them approved. The courses from Adams State that seem to fall under finance are Managerial Finance, Commodities & Risk Management, and Business Financial Problems. I understand (from someone else) that Managerial Finance would be accepted but I don't know about the others. From what I heard, Investments, Financial Management, International Finance, and Comprehensive Financial Planning from Columbia College should be accepted, and Risk and Insurance is not accepted. Always check and double check whether a course will be accepted.
If you want "go at your own pace" courses, look for independent study courses, not necessarily online courses. I believe the courses from Adams State and Upper Iowa Independent Study are "go at your own pace", but Columbia College and Fort Hays are not.
For more information on finance, look for FinancialWorld, he is doing a finance degree from TESC and is farther along and more knowledgeable on the subject than I am.

Here's what I've done for my degree (I'm finishing it up right now).
The specific finance courses and exams that I'll used are:
FINC Investment 354 (Columbia College)
FINC Comprehensive Financial Planning 498 (Columbia College)
TECEP Security Analysis And Portfolio Management
TECEP Financial Institutions and Markets
DSST Money & Banking
BUS Managerial Finance 363 [Adams State College] (which TESC classified as FINC)
These courses covered all of my required finance courses. If you need more info PM. I'll probably lay out on the forum my whole degree and how I completed it in a few weeks. Right now I'm trying to finish up my last TECEP, and take a few CLEPs this week.
