Rusty in Math. College Mathematics??? - Hadamen1 - 06-27-2011

The last time I took a math class was in high school (3 years ago) and it was algebra II. Sad

Should I even attempt the College Mathematics CLEP test if I am so rusty on basic algebra??
How hard is it to pass if I study?

Thanks for the help!!!! Wink

Before taking an online course or CLEP, you could head over to Khan Academy and go through the series of tutorials and quizzes there. This would give you a good idea of where you stand on your math skills and can give you some in instruction as well.

The site is free.

Hi and welcome! I took College Math after not having taken any sort of math whatsoever since the early 90's. I brushed up with ALEKS and also used IC and youtube lectures. If I were to do it over again, I would probably skip ALEKS for this particular test. You will want to use IC cards as a guide of what will be on the test and then head over to Youtube (and/or Khan academy as suggested above) to make sure you know the concepts.

You can do it and it's worth 6 credits, so a very worthwhile test!
