As many of you know, I'm going for a BA Natural Sciences & Mathematics as it seems like the best bet for me. Just finished ALEKS Intermediate Algebra and updated my spreadsheet.

Please see attached. Looking for ways to fulfill the UL concentration requirements. This spreadsheet is how I have organized everything so far. All advice welcome.

In your Yellow area I think you need a computer course or Exam CLEP Info Sys. and Comp. Apps. or DSST Intro To Comp. will fill this. Then you can move one of the courses in Yellow down to white.

As for your gray Area that is a problem. the only suggestion I have is Global Environmental Change course at TESC it is 6 upper level credits.

When I did my BA Natural Sciences/Math it was before the requirement change so I didn't need 18 upper level 300-400. 200 was still considered Upper level. I don't know of any other courses or exams that will help you. I had already taken Organic Chem I & II at a CC so that helped me.

You could look for online courses from other schools, I know Straighterline does not have any upper level now or expected.

I agree with Linda. She is the go to girl for Natural Science and Math.

Thanks Linda. TESC transferred over my credits as such, so I'm almost positive I won't need a Comp. course. It's recommended, not required. Lucky for me, because I'm not great on computers. Smile

You are right, I thought they had changed it to required after my plan.

Ok after a better look at your plan, in line 9 your 3 credits of Humanities, DSST Technical Writing will work here and is really not a difficult exam.
You had that in your general Education electives, but you can put another easier exam here. I am sure you could easily Ace Here's to your Health.

For Line 30 The DSST Environment and humanity is not difficult and 200 level It is especially easy if you take the Global Enviro. Change first.

For line 39 the Natural Science Clep is 6 credits and with the sciences you have already taken that would not be difficult. Except I don't know what level your Sciences are. A & P came in as 200 level for me. It might be easier to drop one of your 1 credit courses and put in the Natural science.

If you can learn somethings about computers the TECEP Network Technology CMP-354-TE would work as 3 upper level Science/Math credit that and the Global Enviro. course would leave you only needing 6 more upper level credits.

I hope this helps a little

EDIT: I have done this for you before Why did you change your name CS7/Cherry?

Linda, are you sure the Network Technology TECEP will fall under Nat Sci & Math, i.e., did you get credit for that or did an advisor tell you it would? I suggested more than once to the OP that she take that exam if an advisor confirms it would fall under Nat Sci & Math.

TESC BA Natural Sciences & Mathematics Suggestions - Lindagerr - 06-26-2011

@ Yenisei No I did not get credit, I did not need or take it. It is lister under Natural Sciences/Mathematics here Undergraduate Ways to Earn Credit - Thomas Edison State College - acalog ACMSâ„¢ So I figure that is what they take it in.

@ Bricabrac I wrote the whole thing and then I said this look familiar, so I checked out Cherry's profile. DUH !! :o I should have done that first. Oh well live and learn

Thanks, Linda. I had suggested to cherry/cs7 that it might be good for UL Nat Sci & Math Area of Study credit, so it's good to have confirmation that it is.
