Macro/Micro CLEP overlap? - joshua_tree - 06-20-2011 Hi all, Just wondering how much overlap there is between the Macroeconomics & Microeconomics CLEP tests? I am taking the Macro test in a few weeks-I have been studying intermittently for about 2 months (I work more than full-time, so I can't just take a week & study like a lot of you!) and would like to take the Micro test next month. Is there enough overlap between the tests that I can be ready for the Micro in a month with only studying an hour or so a day? Thanks all! Macro/Micro CLEP overlap? - bkahuna - 06-20-2011 Micro is harder than macro, studying an hour a day might be OK but you may need more time depending on how well you understand and retain the material. I would say if I had it to do over again (I did pass my first try I think with a 62) I would have studied more. The concepts are repeated continually throughout the BSBA degree program. My number one tip: use the specific exam forum thread. As far as overlap, there is a bit but not much. The most recent economics text I've seen (someone here at work is taking his econ classes for foundational MBA requirements) is a combination of Micro/Macro in one book. remember, the 3 credits per exam is really supposed to be 2 courses, each 18 weeks so it takes some time to fully get a handle on it. Macro/Micro CLEP overlap? - ryoder - 06-21-2011 I would get the REA books and sit down on the weekend and read one the whole way through. There is about 1/3 overlap between the two so I didn't take the macro test until I had completed studying for micro and macro. I think it helped me out. I got 72s on both using REA and speedyprep.com. |
