Accepted to Graduate School!!! - burbuja0512 - 06-13-2011

Hi everyone! I thought you might be interested to know that I just got back from my admissions interview to Regis University. The program that I applied for is a Bilingual MBA with a specialty in Emerging Markets. 50% of the classes are in English and 50% in Spanish. Graduates are actually issued an MBA from Regis and also an MBA from their partner school in Mexico, ITESO University.

I was very nervous about my Straighterline credits and also a little nervous that they would have an issue with my CLEP/DSST credits. I had fully prepared several responses to possible inquiries about my testing. I am happy to say that not only was my transcript not an issue, but I was not asked about why I had so many testing credits. The interview focused entirely on my Spanish skills and experience working in Mexico along with what I would bring to the program.

I know that Regis may not be Harvard, but it's very well-respected here in Denver and the Emerging Markets MBA is EXACTLY what I want to do and I would still be plodding through undergraduate school if it weren't for COSC, CLEP and DSST!

Congrats! I'm so thrilled for you! When do you start? Isn't it great to get what you want on your terms and not that of someone else? Gee, with all the money and time you saved with the methods here you can take us all to Mexico for some margaritas!!! I'm glad it is all working out for you. Keep us posted on how things go with the program. I'm at the halfway point in my MHA and so far it has been good, a few hiccups along the way, but mostly all good. It is exciting to see everyone's successes here! Good luck! I hope it turns out to be everything you wanted.

Gracias everyone!!

I am scheduled to start at the end of August, but there is a minor issue.. Since the program is very new and not well-known yet, we may not have enough students. I told them that I would happily wait until Spring 2012 to start if I have to because this is truly the program of my dreams. I will get an MBA, likely an international MBA elsewhere if I have to, but I hope not.

@SiervodeCristo - te mande un mensaje

@Jennifer - Next time you're in Denver, let me know!!

Great news! Congrats!

I never doubted for a minute that you would get in. In addition to your shiney new degree from COSC you also have determination and infectious enthusiasm. I suspect you would be a shoe in for any selection committee that met you.

Good luck...but you don't need it! Smile
