Presents... - STG - 05-05-2011 I have my friend's birthday on Wednesday and I don't know what to get her...today was my other friend's birthday but she's not so close to me so I didn't get her something big, but the birthday on Wednesday is one of my closest friends...she's turning 20. Last year I got her a $50 gift card from American express. Any ideas for this year? I'm taking her out to eat and I'm obviously buying her a card and balloons...but what else? Presents... - PonyGirl93 - 05-06-2011 For about 2 years I used the exact same idea with every person I know, so I wore it out, but it's still a good idea Whatever their favorite "relax" hobby is, you can make them a little (or big) emergency basket. For a movie buff you can get a Best Buy or Blockbuster gift card, popcorn, candy, a throw blanket, etc etc. For a spa girl, you can get foot scrubs, nail polish, lotion, great socks, etc. An adventurous girl could have a travel magazine subscription, gift card to Dick's sporting goods, etc. The great thing about making these is that you can spend as little or as much as you want. Good luck! Presents... - TheCommuter - 05-06-2011 Would she like a gift certificate for a package at a local spa? If she's the feminine type who would enjoy pampering, a massage, a facial, and a manicure or pedicure, perhaps this would be a unique birthday present. My friend is about 15 years older than your friend, but we had a blast at a local salon/boutique two years ago for her 33rd birthday. She received a facial, full body massage, and lunch complete with champagne. I ended up receiving microdermabrasion, the full body massage, and lunch. Presents... - burbuja0512 - 05-06-2011 Did you buy something yet? I usually do something funny and personal. I'm not big on serious gifts, though when I do buy a serious gift, I shop like I'm shopping for myself and get something I would really like such as lotion at Bath & Body Works. My favorite things to do are to customize a gift. If you don't have much time, that's harder. Even with a few days left, here are a few ideas for a personalized gift: Have a cake made at your local grocery store bakery with a funny picture of her on it. (Not bad funny, but goofy-funny) After dinner, break out the cake and enjoy the surprise. This is especially fun if you're celebrating with a group of friends. Or if she's not into cake, just find the best picture of you and herand blow it up. Make it an 8x10 and put it in a really cool and funky frame - like those with jewels and glitter on them. Include a really sweet card about how much your friendship means. Make the card by hand if you are good with artsy stuff. Just some thoughts.... I have been wanting to get those personalized M&M's for someone on their birthday. They're kind of expensive, but I think that would be so fun. I don't think you would have time for that though..
