I was wondering if the IC questions would sufficiently cover the material in the U.S History Test II to pass the test or whether another source would probably be required.
I have heard that this test is quite difficult and so was wondering how helpful IC is for preparing for it.

Thanks

IC was helpful but you will probably want to supplement it with a textbook like The American Pageant. My exam had a lot of questions about the Korean War especially so you need to know that one cold.

Reading a textbook will help you put all the pieces of the information on the flashcards together for the whole story.

US History II CLEP - Storyteller - 04-27-2011

I took the test February 2011 and have enclosed the feedback that I posted at that time.

["I just today passed Clep US History II with a 74 - I used IC, REA, Peterson's, Sparknotes and Historyteacher.net (History AP), I studied 2 wks. It usually takes me 3-4 wks.

The test was 120 questions and I swear I could have used IC exclusively to pass this test. I'm not good at guessing so I tend to study hard.

With IC do every section - I found the number of categories daunting so I started from the bottom up since it covered information that I had lived through. [Nixon was president when I graduated HS!] You gotta love it!

The test is straightforward - few subjective questions - it's good to know a little about everything from 1877 to 2000."]

Hope this helps.

(I don't remember any era or event dominating the questions.)

I would definitely supplement the IC flashcards although they are pretty good for this test. I used IC, REA, and Peterson's practice tests. I think I also read a Pass Your Class Study guide as over kill.

Thanks for the help
From other threads and forums it seems that the U.S. History II is a lot more conceptual and the US. History I is more factual.
Does this seem to be true??

I also have the option to take the U.S. I rather then U.S. II and am leaning towards taking U.S. I.

Does this seem like the advisable move to take??

Thanks a lot.

Sorry when I wrote my last reply I was in a hurry. My Sister took Us History 2 and failedSad I have not taken the test yet but have heard that it is more about what people think ect. I did take US history 1 and passedSmile A lot of people I know have failed the US history 2 exam. They said that it was not what they expected. So to answer your question in a more thought out way, US history 1.
