Analyzing & Interpreting literature pre-tests - REA v Petersons - Need answer soon - xiguassux - 04-18-2011

I'm taking the A&I lit test on Wednesday morning but have some concerns about my scores on the pre-tests.

I've taken the 3 Petersons ones and have gotten a scaled score of 64, 57 & 66... which I feel good about.

However, on the two REA ones I've taken I only recieved 54 and 50.... I found these tests to be much harder and guessed at a lot.

For those who have taken these before or have exposure to them... do you agree with the REA being harder? I've heard the actual CLEP is closer to the Petersons versions but potentially easier... or are they closer to the REA versions and I'm in trouble?

Thanks!!!

Hi,

I took A&I Lit, but I didn't use the REA book. I did use Petersons and my scores were 78, 68, and 66. I scored a 66 on the actual CLEP. I didn't really use anything to study for this one, just some vocab websites from the Specific Feedback Forum. I think that with those scores you should be fine! Remember to keep an eye on the clock. Good luck! Let us know how it goes!

I used REA but not peterson's.

REA was harder than the actual exam imo.

The biggest thing you need to practice is reading the passages quickly.

Read the Q's quickly first then read the passage and answer the Q's as you see the parts in the passage relevant to the Q's.

Don't read the passage and then go read the Q's. You'll waste too much time re-reading.

This test is super easy. Kill it!

I barely passed the practice tests, took REA and Peterson's. If I remember correctly, REA was harder than Peterson's--however--BOTH are easier than the real test!

You should be fine w/ those scores!

Good luck!

Passed with a 64.... I thought it compared pretty closely to the Petersons one
