FEMA IS-003 study tips - akcb - 04-06-2011 Just finished this course; I know it's not a difficult course but I thought I might share the resources I used. Maybe it will help someone take the plunge and finally get working on their degree instead of just reading about it for 5 years like I did!First, the entire FEMA class (1 credit) took me 30 minutes. I backward engineered it, though - printed the test and found the answers online. I still have to go back to the FEMA website to enter my answers, but I've done all the work. For more info on FEMA classes, search the forums. There's a ton of info out there. Here's how I completed this course: 1. Started typing question into google. Usually the autofill would suggest the question and the answers would be there in the results page. Verified answer with more than one reputable source, and Wiki/Yahoo are not reputable. 2. vhttp://www.jlab.org/div_dept/train/rad_guide/intro.html - an online training website hosted by a commercial enterprise. Really helpful and easily understood - I spent about 5 minutes there, got 7 answers, and took a few minutes to read more because it's interesting. 3. In another window, I opened up the whole class PDF and used my Control F function to find the section that had the information I needed. http://training.fema.gov/emiweb/downloads/IS3_is3all.pdf Hope this helps someone. It was really interesting, I actually learned a lot about radiation and nuclear power, and in light of the recent tragedy in Japan, it was very timely. |
