TESC: Academic Eval. - OneDayDegree - 03-19-2011

Can someone help in letting me know what classes I can now skip from my academic eval. It is attached as a word doc. My BSBA plan is the link below in my signature.

Thanks!

TESC: Academic Eval. - SRT12 - 03-19-2011

business comm. can be taken at Str8rline, its not bad at all.

TESC: Academic Eval. - ryoder - 03-19-2011

Straighter line is awesome. I would recommend signin up for the monthly subscription and knocking out biz comm and both accounting classes for starters. They also offer macro and micro. I did the clep version of those so I cannot comment on them. You can also study start studying for and take the marketing clep which isn't hard if you read the REA book and do all the practice tests. Sam with management clep. You have a lot of options at this point. I envy you, the journey is very rewarding!

TESC: Academic Eval. - StrEngr - 03-19-2011

Looks like you can skip your two free electives, as they have been credited already, and you only need one more business elective - I would recommend the Intro to Business. I'm not sure they would credit business math as a business elective. Good luck!

TESC: Academic Eval. - ryoder - 03-20-2011

Aleks intro to stats is good for stats requirement and aleks business stats transcribes as upper level business elective credit OPM-351. My advisor said it did not but the registrar disagreed Smile

I saw your TESC academic evaluation and I think the correct question is: What can't you take? TESC accepts w/o limit Clep-Dante [the way I understand it] thus you Eng. CFomp, Humanities, Soc Sci, etc etc is ripe for clepping.

TESC: Academic Eval. - OneDayDegree - 03-21-2011

Okay I think I may have a better understanding:

Gen Ed. Electives: 1 credit awarded - 20 remaining.

Business Electives: 5 credits awarded - 4 Remaining.

Free Electives: 16 credits awarded - 0 remaining.

Does that look correct, only electives were awarded?

TESC: Academic Eval. - OneDayDegree - 03-21-2011

Okay, so here we are as far as credits to degree plans at TESC:

Academic Eval - 12 Credits awarded towards BSBA - Gen Mgmt.
Academic Eval - 22 Credits awarded towards BA Liberal Studies

I have a degree plan in place for the BSBA, but when I try and figure out a plan for the BA Liberal Arts, I am confused on which classes to fill in the blanks. Can someone assist with a degree plan for Liberal Arts? I was awarded 21 credits in the BA Free Electives and only require 6 credits.

Can those remaining 6 be FEMA?

I have also passed the following exams:

DSST - Intro to Computing
DSST - Principles of Supervision

Not sure where they can fall in the BALS plan.

While I gain more credits in BALS degree plan, are the DSST/CLEP exams remaining any easier than required for the BSBA?

TESC: Academic Eval. - emichele20 - 03-21-2011

Okay so this is what I have gathered from TESC website: Undergraduate Ways to Earn Credit - Thomas Edison State College - acalog ACMSâ„¢

Under DANTES the tests you took would fall under:

Natural Sciences/Mathematics
COS-101-DE Introduction to Computing

Business
MAN-201-DE Principles of Supervision

TESC: Academic Eval. - emichele20 - 03-21-2011

Now this is what I came up with so far:

Bachelors Liberal Arts Degree/ TESC

I. General Education Requirements 60

A. English Composition 6- You can CLEP this and get full credit

B. Humanities 12-DANTES/CLEP courses are avail to fulfill this requirement. Please check the link above or below to see what fits you best. Must include at least two subject areas

C. Social Sciences 12-DANTES/CLEP courses are avail to fulfill this requirement. Please check the link above or below to see what fits you best. Must include at least two subject areas

D. Natural Sciences and Mathematics 12- you have completed one requirement here. So you would only have three more to go and you could test out or use straighterline/penn foster.

One college-level mathematics course required (3)
One computer science course recommended -COS-101-DE Introduction to Computing- would fall here or under other natural sciences below.
Other natural sciences/mathematics (6)
Must include at least two subject areas

E. General Education Electives 18- you have already completed one course in this area. you can have fun with this area you could complete courses at straighterline, tesc or penn foster to complete this requirement. Five courses/tests and you would be done.

MAN-201-DE Principles of Supervision

II. Area of Study: Liberal Studies 33
A. REQUIREMENTS

This option can be up to you. You can mix and match a couple different courses but you must make sure that atleast 18 of the credits are 300 and 400 level. The main areas of courses are humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and mathematics. If you are planning on testing out I would check here to see which courses would give you 300/400 level credit. Here is the link for that: Undergraduate Ways to Earn Credit - Thomas Edison State College - acalog ACMSâ„¢

III. Free Electives 27

Your 21 credits would be applied here and you could complete 6 additional FEMA Credits to complete this requirement.

Total 27/120 so far
