Yes. My wife did that, she is enrolled with TESC but took two classes with Excelsior and transferred them in. Can't remember what she did but I'm sure you can call them and they'll walk you through it. She was just considered non-matriculated or non-degree seeking student. They charge $250 a credit hour, plus books.

If this is the case, I would look at other "cheaper" colleges to get transfer credit.

There are cheaper options if you want to take a single class without enrolling. For example, Independent Study in Idaho offers distance based courses for about $100 per credit. Louisiana State University offers independent study courses that cost $364 for a 3 semester hour class.
Also, you can enroll at Fort Hays State University as a non-degree seeking student and pay $170 per credit to take a class.
