Studying for Astronomy and need a few pointers. The non-updated non-V2 version of Astronomy makes it very difficult to go back over the questions that I got wrong. Does it seem like you had to go back through the entire subtopic or is there a way you can get to where the questions you answered incorrectly were? It seems now as if I have to go back to each one individually, but when I try to do that it ends up taking back through the entire subtopic including the ones I got right!?!?!? Did you have this same problem? Is there a better way to do this and I'm missing something? I will admit it, my brain is fried! Also, when you mentioned the Peterson's practice tests, did you mean the ones that are available on free-clep-prep.com or did you go to the actual Peterson's website?
This is for anyone else, I remember a posting about sometime ago re: Astronomy about some good info on ITunesU.com, but I can't seem to find where I need to go re: Astronomy on that site. Has anybody else had this problem or can they point me in the right or another direction so I can pass this dat blasted test next week? Thanks for the input! Have a good night!

What I did was anytime I got a question wrong, or thought it was something I needed to learn or remember, I would write it down. So I would go through each section of the Astronomy flash cards and when it was something important, like how a star is formed, I would write it down and review it later. After I went through all the flashcards I would review the notes I wrote, highlight important parts, and then I took the practice test at free-clep-prep.com.
After I took the practice test I would review what I got wrong, jot down some more stuff based on what I learned from the practice test, and then I was ready and took the real one.

I haven't taken astronomy, but my study is very similar to what MA2 describes. I type up any of the cards that I don't know. I really believe that for many people typing or writing it down helps you remember. It involves multiple senses. You visually see the cards and kinesthetically write or type it down. That gets two out of three learning styles.. now if you're an auditory learner, make a recording of you reading the card and listen to it!

I have a process of studying that has never failed me. I will simply go through all of the flashcards, over and over again, until I reach a point where I am comfortable with filling in the blanks to the majority of the questions unassisted.
I thought the Astronomy DSST was fairly easy. In addition to using Instantcert, I had a little book called "Pass DSST Astronomy the Easy Way!" that I would read every day on the metro. You can pick it up for cheap at Amazon.com, and I HIGHLY recommend it.

Thanks for everyone's input! I guess I might be making this more difficult than it probably is. I have 6credits left to go by April 26th and my brain is just plain warped! The Astronomy test is scheduled for this coming Monday morning and I have to drive 100 miles to get to the testing site. If I don't pass this test, I'm out another testing fee, plus gas money, time and effort, as well as time off from work. On top of all that I have to pick another test to study for and hopefully pass it before my deadline of April 26th. I'm also scheduled to take Substance Abuse again, but I can't take it until after the end of March or beginning of April because I failed it by only 5 points back in September. I want to take the Substance Abuse again because I think there's still some info left re: this topic in the back of my brain somewhere and with some effort I should be able to unlock that information. (I'm hoping anyway!) The Astronomy flashcards have only a little over 200 questions within all of the combined subtopics. Surely, you would think, I can handle that before Monday morning, right? I'll roll with! Thanks again!

Definitely use another source. This is just general info, i never took astronomy but the confidence you get from overlaying sources is unbeatable.
That amazon book sounds great. See if it's on kindle?
