Should I take the Clep history I or II? - feefop - 01-28-2011

I have about a month to study, about four hours a week. Are the IC cards more relevant for one or the other? I'm just looking to pass the clep, and hopefully get by on the IC cards alone. Possible?

Are the IC cards more relevant for one or the other? Not really.....

I'm just looking to pass the clep, and hopefully get by on the IC cards alone. Possible? Yes, but you may wish to use other sources as wel.

If you are having a hard time deciding which one to take, go to this website and click on either History I or History II and it will bring up a list of the topics that will be on this test. Maybe this will help you make a decision.

Sorry I can't give you any input on the flashcards. I haven't taken this test yet.

Should I take the Clep history I or II? - Elinor - 01-31-2011

I took (and passed) both US History I and II at the same time. I only studied a week... granted, a very intense week.

Personally, I thought US I was easier, but that may be only because most of the US history I'd ever studied up until then was primarily focused on Columbus through the Civil War. If you are interested in the depression era and civil rights movements however, you'll probably find US II easier.

IC was wonderful for each test, but I also supplemented with some Annenburg Media videos, and the REA books. The REA book for US I was definitely the better of the two.

I am an internatinoal student and I knew "zero" about the US history, but I studied about 3 weeks for US history I and passed with 67. So if I can do it, you absolutely will be fine with it too.
