Need one credit for CIS electives, any ideas? - ryoder - 01-21-2011 CIS Electives (12) 1 to go! MIS - DSST 3 MCSD 4 Network+ 2 Oracle Forms 2 A+??? 2 Ok I don't actually have A+ at this point but its a pretty useless cert for someone with as many years in the business as I have. It also requires two tests at a cost of 160 or so each so is there any way that I can pick up a single credit of CIS? If nobody knows I might end up paying for the Networking TECEP but I'd hate for that to be duplicated by my Network+ cert. None of the FEMA or NFA are CIS are they? I have spent a lot of time on the ace site searching for simple ways to grab a couple of credits for CIS to no avail. Microsoft tests aren't that difficult (the older ones aren't, anyway) and you could knock out the 70-270 (XP Pro exam) for $125. Need one credit for CIS electives, any ideas? - ryoder - 01-22-2011 I have an MCP and MCSD, I lost my MCSE. They give no credit for MCP but some of the MCTS and MCITP stuff is ace approved. I might do ASP.Net 3.5 plus the core dotnet exam to pick up two credits. Also is this possible, that I already have enough credits? I have heard that you only need the Sys Analysis class plus a programming class to satisfy the core reqs. That puts you under 6 credits but if thats the case then my 1 credit Sys Design at PF will fill in my required 12 CIS electives. You have an old on in NT4 or Windows 2000 ? Or something else ? Need one credit for CIS electives, any ideas? - ryoder - 01-25-2011 NT4 I got it back in 1998. It was supposed to be worth 14 credits, MCSE+Internet. Of course I called MSFT and they told me I lost it in 2001. My MCSD only gave me 7 credits. You can still see all the tests on my transcript but it makes no mention of MCSE any longer. I might do an MCTS in ASP.Net 3.5 which might only require 1 test since I have an MCSD. I need to call MSFT to be sure my old MCSD is good enough. Otherwise it is two tests. MCTS ASP.Net is good for 2 ace credits. Need one credit for CIS electives, any ideas? - ryoder - 01-26-2011 Actually my mcsd is way old too but it's still on my msft transcript. I lost my nt4 mcse back in 2001 i think when they retired the exams. So it's not tesc it's msft. |
