It was recommended to me by my TESC advisor to take an exam through Excelsior College for Microbiology.
Do I have to enroll, pay an application fee, pay a huge college fee, have transcripts evaluated...the whole 9 yards to get into Excelsior, just to take this exam? OR....is it possible to take this exam and have the results sent over to TESC?

I attended Excelsior College, but based on a cursory review of the web site, it looks like you just register, pay and take the test. I took one TECEP exam and it was the same over there. They actually have a 52 page PDF which would certainly answer any questions you may have available here.

I suggest that you get the content review for the test off Excelsiors web site. I used Microbiology Demystified, and Cliff Notes. I passed with a C , but I just wanted to get it done. It was my last requirement to finish my nursing degree. You can also purchase the practice exams for$60 from Excelsior. It helps alot, there are 2 tests, and you can review them for 60 days. Tough test, but doable.

Yes they are multiple choice, and they print you up grade sheet when you are done.
