TESC and Game Institute - phantasz - 01-09-2011 I've been working on a degree plan for a BS in Computer Science at TESC. This forum is great and answered almost all of my questions. The one thing i'm having trouble finding is whether TESC will accept courses from Game Institute as CS Electives. Specifically the following: C++ Programming for Game Developers - Module I C++ Programming for Game Developers - Module II Introduction to Robotics Artificial Intelligence for Game Developers Also will Game Mathematics cover the Discrete Mathematics requirement? Can anyone help? TESC and Game Institute - Yenisei - 01-09-2011 Are these courses ACE approved? If yes, TESC will accept them. If they aren't, you will have to ask TESC. Be sure to get approval in writing. TESC and Game Institute - phantasz - 01-09-2011 Thanks for the reply. I'm emailing them now. I was under the impression that I had to be enrolled to request that kind of information from them. I'll post any results here. TESC and Game Institute - Yenisei - 01-09-2011 Yes, that's how it works. Maybe someone who is enrolled can ask for you. I know their's no incentive to do so, but I would be very grateful. I'd enroll in TESC now if I thought for sure I could finish my degree in a year. TESC and Game Institute - ryoder - 01-11-2011 I'm not enrolled yet but will beprettysoon and I am asking about comp sci as well as comp info sys. I would love to do that math class instead of discrete math. TESC and Game Institute - Yenisei - 01-12-2011 That Game Mathematics course is also reputed to be tough. TESC and Game Institute - ryoder - 01-12-2011 I almost got into an online comp sci program at fsu but I bought the discrete math text first and worked through the online syllabus on m own time prior to enrolling. I'm pretty good at math, had four calc flaxseed in college, but some of the topics on induction and proofs were beyond my ability to grasp so i decided against the program. Maybe i could have gotten over it and learned it but I was gun shy at that point. I might need a tutor for discrete math and they are hard to find. TESC and Game Institute - phantasz - 01-12-2011 I'm not sure how the credit bank works, but the Game Institute sends credits to Excelsior's credit bank when you pass the course. The best case scenario is that the credits coming from Excelsior credit bank will be considered as coming from a regionally accredited school, especially considering Excelsior accepts the Game Institute credits themselves. Wishful thinking maybe? or is their any precedence for this? On another topic, where exactly can we find Excelsior's technology programs pdf? I wanted to look it over, but it's just unavailable. TESC and Game Institute - ryoder - 01-12-2011 You have to create an account to get it. |
