Human/Cultural Geography? - burbuja0512 - 11-11-2010 Hi, Trying to decide which test to take to meet my global understanding requirement at COSC, which will be the last of my general requirements. Yeah!! The following DSST's meet the requirement: World Religions Human/Cultural Geography Environment & Humanity, Race to Save the Planet There are a couple of other tests that would also work, but that seem tougher: Vietnam Modern Middle East Soviet Union Western Europe since 1945 ..Anyhow, I really want to do the geography test. I love geography and think that studying it would be really fun. However, after reading through the specific forum feedback, which only has 9 posts, I am terrified. It doesn't sound too tough, but I usually read through many pages of feedback when I'm studying and it seems like there's not a lot to go off of.. I've done a search and found a few posts, but has anyone here taken the geography DSST recently? I also welcome comments about the other tests listed, but really am curious to see if anyone knows anything at all about Geography. Thanks! Human/Cultural Geography? - ryoder - 11-13-2010 Hey man I am in the same boat. I just read your post two days ago, called USF here in tampa to be sure they would take the human geo dsst and they said they would so I took the plunge and studied an ap human geo ebook on borders using my ipad for 2 days straight. I just now finished the first practice test with 64/75 right so after doing the other 2 I should be set I think. This ap book did not cover anything but the human side of geo so I think I need to read up on some basic physical geo, I'll check the other posts. Let me know how you are doing on your studying. I liked the book and recommend it. Easy reading but very long. I prefer books like that anyway. Human/Cultural Geography? - burbuja0512 - 11-13-2010 ryoder Wrote:Hey man I am in the same boat. There is a reason though.... my husband just started studying with me and while I would be ok failing a test at this point, I don't want his third test to be bad. That being said, I still really want to do the geography test. I think what I'll do is in a few months, when I have some free time, do a day or two of study and go take it just to see what's on it. Once you take it, please post and let me know. I really love geography and am bummed that I am studying for one that doesn't interest me nearly as much... Human/Cultural Geography? - ryoder - 11-13-2010 Yeah I sure will respond back. For me I had 2 choices only for a very specific cultural requirement, the religions of the world or the human geography. This textbook was more like sociology than geography but if you like learning about the world then its an interesting read. Did you know that there are 800 languages in India?
