WANTED: Plan of Action - Bethanyann89 - 10-08-2010

I have only completed one CLEP so far...and that was a couple weeks ago. When the intentions of going to Thomas Edison, I really feel that I need to get moving on these CLEPs.

What should my next one be? I am trying to tackle the easiest ones first.

Better yet, can you give me a list of CLEPs that I CLEP out of in an easy to follow order?

Thank you for any assistance that is given!

That's hard to answer w/o knowing what degree you're getting and personal preference. Science and history do not interest me at all, so I didn't take any true science or history exams. So until you figure out your degree plan, I guess I would just go with any of the general exams that interest you. College Comp, College Math, US History, etc.

Ha, how very true. I thought I was being thorough but I missed something anyway. Wink

I am going for a Computer Information Systems BS degree.

Thomas Edison State College | BSBA in Computer Information Systems Credit Distribution

I have a hard time understanding what CLEP will fall into what category.

Start knocking out general ed requirements. Take college math, social sciences & History, Humanities etc. Sociology and Psychology are generally regarded as easy using mostly IC. I just passed Anthropology with a 67 (20 points over passing) with only one night of study. The IC cards plus a little wikipedia reading from the exam specific feedback more than did the trick. Technical writing was a breeze as well with just a little exam specific reading.

Maybe this page will help you.

The link RMRoberts gave will help you with your Gen Ed credit choices.

Be sure to search posts by Geezer. His son recently completed this degree. Here is one of his posts which will help you with the general business requirements. (Then you will need to search for the CIS part.)

Starting off with a few easy exams is a good idea for getting used to the study process. Keep a few of the easier exams for last. Saving the hardest exam for last seems to make finishing very difficult.

How was the US History II test? I am scheduled to take it in a couple of weeks, but it seems like a lot of information to take in.

Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

WANTED: Plan of Action - burbuja0512 - 10-08-2010

I would really take the first several CLEP/DSST for whatever you like the best regardless of requirements. You will have a fair number of electives, so if your test doesn't add credits to a required area, it still won't go to waste.

My first couple of tests were topics that I found interesting so that I can develop good study habits and get off to a great start.

I asked the same question sometime ago and got some decent feedback.
