Bad news for NAVY testing centers - blu2blu - 09-21-2010 I went into my Navy testing office today to ask about taking some ECEs. Turns out they have two of the three I need in stock, paper based but oh well. The trouble started when I asked about taking a TECEP. It turns out that there is a new directive stating that Navy testing centers will not facilitate "individual proctored examinations" starting on September 30th. CLEPs and DSSTs are safe though. This policy also means that a student cannot use the testing center to take any mid term or final exams for any distance learning courses they may be taking! They are unsure whether or not they will be able to order the other ECE I need or if that would be banned under this policy. They will allow me to take the ECEs they have in stock though. Has anyone else heard about this mess? Bad news for NAVY testing centers - larry7crys - 09-24-2010 I knew it would happen. Besides, your local library can be a proctor for your exams for free (at least the Coronado Library did) or charge a fee. I preferred the library because the hey, it's the library, you should be able to hear a pin drop. Naval Base Point Loma would have done it but they said that they are too small and too busy to proctor. I was looking to do it at the Naval Air Station but Thomas Edison denied all military bases for testing at the time. I'm sure it was because somebody misplaced the Technical Writing DSST. I remember taking that DSST at the University of Phoenix without being reimbursed. Damn Navy :puke: Bad news for NAVY testing centers - larry7crys - 09-24-2010 Can't you take your Navy College PACE exams on the ship? Did they finally stop that too? Bad news for NAVY testing centers - blu2blu - 09-26-2010 I have no clue. What's a ship? I work for these dirt sailing seabees... |
