Operations Mgmt - CSU Pueblo (MGMT311) - EHSAN - 09-14-2010

Looking to register for this course... anyone have any study aides to go with this besides the recommended textbook? Notes... etc??

I am almost done with this class. Professor really gives you everything you need, the course materials are excellent and he's very helpful. If you like the subject and want to read outside the book the Web is your best friend, but you don't need to do that to do well in the class. There a thread on this forum with some advice you will want to read. Look in particular at the longish post by user "Barcotta".

Thank you so much... I'll definitely take a look.

What are the CSU Pueblo prerequisites to Mgmt 311 (Operations Management)?
Thanks!

They don't really look at prerequisites... at least they didn't ask me when I registered so I think it should be the same for anyone else.

I was not asked to prove prereqs, but you will want to be comfortable with algebra and intro statistics. Not so much to do math problems, but you need understanding of the concepts, if that makes sense.

Phillip - I sent you a pm.

I went to the CSU Independent Study site and checked the course description and no prerequisites are listed. There's no place on the course registration form (I just checked my copy this evening) for prerequisites. Nothing in the syllabus either.

Hi,

Thank you for the post. I've just done the first quarter of this course without using excel OM... is this normal? Will I have to use it down the road in this course?

Thanks :-)

IIRC up to Exam I there was no real use for Excel OM. Later on there is. Use of Excel OM for the course isn't required (everything in the course can be done by hand, or with plain Excel), but where it's applicable, prof accepts it. For the problems where prof says "show your work" I at least explain what the Excel OM sheet does, so he knows I know the concept. I'm on Exam IV as I write, Excel OM is my friend.

Visio came in handy for flow charts and misc drawings later on. If you can get a cheap edu copy or a similar program that might be beneficial.
