math subject exams - Holly - 02-12-2006

Hi

I am now preparing for the college math exam, which I'll take soon,
and I think InstantCert will help me prepare sufficiently for that.
I also plan in taking College Algebra, Calculus, and Trigonometry at a later point in time. Does anyone have any advice in how to prepare for those?

Thanks a lot in advance!

PS:
For all of you who also study for the math general exam, you might want to check out some free online tests, which I found helpful at http://www.4tests.com/exams/questions.asp?exid=5811012&googlebot=8
and

(which I found thanks to this forum!)

Hi Holly:

Sorry I can't offer you any help as to the other tests, I'm just praying that I can pass the college mathematics exam since I haven't taken a math class in more than 30 years...........GOOD LUCK!!!

I haven't yet taken or studied for the CLEP College Algebra exam, but I have purchased in advance two primers:

The REA guide seems like the better bet, since it specifically targets the CLEP exam and has 3 full length practice exams; however, REA is famous for typos and coming short in preparing for exams.

I've used a few books in the Harpercollins series and they're very comprehensive yet concise. It's about 440 pages compared to REAs approx. 220 pages.
