Athabasca University's 90 Credit Undergrad - pugman - 01-05-2007 Has anyone here considered Athabasca rather than the big 3? Given that their program allows 100% transfer credit (like the big 3) but is only 90 credits (rather than 120 @ COSC, Excelsior and TESC) - I would be curious to see if anyone has leveraged their program using IC. Just double this program for 141 credits earned under $2000. Can't remember the name but the company that I had to use to get my credits transfered to Excelsior recommended them as 4 credit courses. That may be why the degree is listed as 90 hours. Brian, unless I am mistaken, Athabasca is $80 application fee + $200 credit transcription fee...and they allow 100% credit transfer (e.g. you need not take 1 class at Athabasca). My point here is that it seems like a good alternative to the big 3; certainly worth considering and possibly cheaper. According to this they dont do CLEPs, not suprising since the degree lets you use 6 credits MAX 100 level classes..I am curious if they xfr in if they have been accepted by a US college. Also from looking at the main site they do offer 4 year degree, so from that fact and some info in the above link in Canda this is considered a terminal degree, although it does look like some grads schools here take it. This info is about Indian degrees Three Year Indian Degree lists some schools that take (or consider really) 3 year degrees, like Canda the Indian system is British based. Blitz |
