So I need 6 humanities credits. If religion counts as a humanity, it occurred to me that perhaps I can get cheap self-paced ACE reviewed credit using this avenue. Open to all suggestions, not just religion. It's just an idea.

Does such a thing exist at an affordable price? I'm almost certain I was aware of an ACE reviewed religious school that cost under $50/credit at some point a couple years ago.

NOTE: The intended final recipient of the credit is Excelsior college.

Thanks for your consideration!

I read somewhere that Seminary Extension has courses favorably reviewed by ACE and is accredited by DETC.

EDIT: On further review these courses do not seem self-paced to the extent desired and have a murky mass of costs as well as text books. It's close to what I want, but perhaps not quite.

You probably picked that up from my post somewhere around the internet here. I haven't tried SE yet, but am considering it, and have contacted them with questions about the cost. You can get 3UL credits for a couple of the independant study courses and they come in under $200 (often taking into account the book, which you can just buy online at your preference anyway.)

So do you think it is a viable solution to the problem?

Great find! The theology courses look especially interesting.

It looks viable. I wonder if anybody can tell us how long they take? I would like to spend only a couple weeks if possible.

Ive looked at this site as well. I would be very interested to see what type of credit TESC would give for these courses. Might be the last three history credits I'm looking for.

I can't say I know much about it other than what is on the SE website and the ACE national guide. Looking at SE's catalog and trying to add up the price looked quite high to me, so I emailed them, and the response was something like $160 w/o the book for the 3cr UL course I was inquiring about.

Well that's not so bad....

You can try Global University it is $110 x credit. A lot of their courses are offered for 2 credits with an extension of 3 credits with a written paper and all the finals are proctored and multiple choice but they are not paranoic with proctors and if you live outside the US they might offer a very reduced tuition for the per credit hour fee.

If you take that route don't buy the books from them because they are extremely pricy. Get them used from places like Amazon or Half.

Thanks for the suggestion! I do think that $110/hour is a bit pricey for me. Otherwise it sounds like a good program.
