how many clep test can I take? - lina - 06-20-2010 I just found out this from my school website How many CLEP tests can I take? XX(my school name)offers 29 CLEP tests for degree credit. The only limit to the number of CLEP exams allowed per student is related to the following residence requirements: A minimum of one-half of the upper-division requirements in a student's major field must be earned in residence at XX. The last 18 hours prior to graduation must be taken in residence at XX, and at least 30 credit hours must be earned at XX. It is important to consider CLEP credit carefully. If you CLEP out of a course that serves as a foundation course for your major, will you be prepared well enough to handle future course work? My question is that I only have 18 credits left before graduation, but I want to clep History in the summer. Does that mean that I am not qualify to take the clep test, since the last 18 hours prior to graduation must be taken in residence at my school? Please tell me what you guys think. Thanks. how many clep test can I take? - protester - 06-20-2010 You should ask your academic advisor or contact someone from the office of academic affairs. I have never seen it worded quite that way and it certainly is not worth risking any complications by not asking. how many clep test can I take? - lina - 06-20-2010 protester Wrote:You should ask your academic advisor or contact someone from the office of academic affairs. I just read through University Academic Regulations, and I found that students must earn at least 30 semester credit hours at XX. At least 15 of the final 30 hours applied toward the degree and least fifty percent of the upper-division hours required by XX in the major field must be satisfactorily completed at XX. This will make me qualified to CLEP 15 more credits. That is big relief!!! And I hate the out-of-date info which got me worried the entire afternoon. |
